The 2010 Marg Johansen award goes to Tessa Flores of McMinnville High School in recognition of her accomplishments in the performing arts. Tessa's school drama career began in middle school and continued throughout her high school years. Her talent and dedication to her chosen art earned her exceedingly high praise from her teachers and directors. Tessa plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in fine arts at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles.
The Arts Alliance of Yamhill County will soon announce it is accepting applications for its 10th annual Marg Johansen Scholarship award. This award is named for Marg Johansen, who passed away in 2004. She was an active member of our arts community and her work may be seen in many locations in Yamhill County as well as all over the world.
The scholarship is awarded to a graduating High School senior who intends to further his or her education in an arts related field. Any high school senior in Yamhill County may apply for this $1000.00 scholarship.
